You sir, are a steely-eyed missle man!

I remember…
July 20, 1969…
Summer vacation between my 6th and 7th grades…
320 William Avenue, Larkspur, California, just before 8 pm…
Watching a black and white Ward’s Signature TV…
Pop had removed the anti-glare panel so he could take photos of the screen…
A blurry figure of a man in a space suit climbing down a ladder…
He stops on the pad at the bottom…
He steps off the pad and says…

“That’s one small step for a man; one giant leap for mankind.”

And we were in awe that we were watching the first man to set foot on the moon…
Proof that despite the times, we were still a great country…
Proof that we, as a nation, had the will to do great things…
Unfortunately, great men die…
Good luck and God speed…

Today, August 25, 2012, Neil Armstrong passed away.
